WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met with Republic of Korea Minister of Defense Jeong Kyeongdoo Nov. 1 in Washington D.C.
Gen. Dunford congratulated Minister Jeong on his new position as the Minister of Defense. The two leaders discussed their observations following the Military Committee Meeting and the Security Consultative Meeting. They committed to continuing cooperation as allies and to maintaining close coordination on mutual security issues of interest.
The United States - Republic of Korea alliance is a lynchpin of stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region.
