WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with United Kingdom's Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Sir Nicholas Carter today.
The introductory call between the two leaders provided an opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the strong partnership between the U.S. and the United Kingdom. They also discussed the current security environment in Europe and ongoing global counterterrorism efforts.
The United Kingdom and United States share a long history of mutual support and cooperation, which are cornerstones of the strong alliance and special relationship between the two nations.
