WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with Chief of the Australian Defence Force Gen. Angus Campbell by telephone Monday, October 28.
The two military leaders discussed a range of issues, including the global threat of terrorism and regional security. They both agreed to continue to strengthen multilateral cooperation and improve capabilities and interoperability.
The U.S.-Australia alliance plays a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and in leading the global fight against violent extremism.
