WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Maj. Trisha Guillebeau provided the following readout:
Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. John E. Hyten met with the Ethiopian Chief of General Staff Gen. Adem Mohammed Mahmude today in Washington D.C.
Gen. Hyten thanked Gen. Adem for Ethiopia's contributions and commitment to regional stability and his nation's support to United Nations' peacekeeping missions throughout Africa. The two leaders also discussed ways to strengthen military cooperation.
The partnership between the United States and Ethiopia is an important element to peace and stability in East Africa.
