WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Commander of the Estonian Defense Forces Maj. Gen. Martin Herem today at the Pentagon.
Gen. Milley thanked Maj. Gen. Herem for his nation's contributions to the Resolute Support mission and Operation Inherent Resolve. The two leaders also discussed several issues of shared concern including opportunities for increased cooperation, readiness and modernization efforts.
Estonia is a leader in NATO defense and deterrence activities in the Baltic Sea region and Eastern Europe. The U.S. and Estonia continue to share a strong defense relationship and cooperate on a wide range of programs.
