WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met this week with the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani, Vice President Salleh, and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul during a visit to the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
The senior leaders discussed the current security environment in Afghanistan.
The United States remains fully committed to helping Afghans create a secure and stable Afghanistan by supporting inclusive efforts to achieve peace.
