Today, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., called his counterpart the Chief of Staff for Japan Self Defense Forces, Adm. Katsutoshi Kawano, to discuss mutual security concerns regarding North Korea's recent proactive actions. Gen. Dunford and Adm. Kawano each expressed commitment to the U.S.-Japan alliance and close military-to-military contact.
