Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Ganbyamba Sunrev on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the Pentagon. This engagement marks Gen. Caine’s first formal meeting with Lt. Gen. Ganbyamba.
Gen. Caine and Lt. Gen. Ganbyamba discussed bilateral defense cooperation, regional security issues, international peacekeeping efforts, and acknowledged Mongolia’s longstanding leadership in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
The two leaders exchanged views on opportunities for expanded training and exchanges, and reaffirmed the importance of deepening cooperation to promote stability and uphold shared international principles.
The United States values its enduring partnership with Mongolia and remains committed to supporting the Mongolian Armed Forces in their contributions to global peacekeeping, regional stability, and a free and open Indo-Pacific.
