Yesterday, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine met with his counterparts from the United Kingdom and France, Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal Sir Richard Knighton and Chief of the General Staff General Fabien Mandon, at the National Defense University.
Topics discussed included establishing a shared understanding of global risks and threats; unity of effort in contingencies; expected burden sharing; and priorities for production and logistics.
The meeting recognized the shared interests of the allies; the need for coordinated materiel production at scale; and the importance of deterrence through unity and strength. The leaders also explored ways to optimize interoperability of critical systems and align force and resource generation planning.
