JORDAN — Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Christopher J. Mahoney met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, General Yousef Huneiti, during a visit to U.S. troops in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility on 5 December 2025.
During their engagement, the leaders discussed regional security developments, ongoing military cooperation, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral capabilities. The United States and Jordan share a strategic defense partnership spanning more than seven decades, grounded in Jordan’s status as a Major Non-NATO Ally and its essential role in promoting regional stability.
This close military cooperation enhances deterrence, counters violent extremism, and malign regional activity across the Levant. The Joint Force remains committed to deepening cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces in support of shared security and strategic objectives.
