Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine met with India’s Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan on January 30 via videoconference.
Gen. Caine and Gen. Chauhan discussed shared security perspectives and ongoing U.S.-India defense cooperation. The two leaders reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.-India Major Defense Partnership and discussed continued efforts to enhance interoperability, operational coordination, and information sharing across multiple domains.
They also underscored the importance of sustained collaboration in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific and of working with like-minded partners to address shared security challenges.
The United States and India share a close and growing defense relationship grounded in common strategic interests and a shared commitment to regional stability.
