Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Christopher J. Mahoney met with France’s Vice Chief of Defence Adm. François-Xavier Polderman in the Pentagon, February 12, 2026.
Gen. Mahoney and Adm. Polderman discussed a broad range of shared security challenges globally and in the region. The two leaders reaffirmed that France is one of America’s most willing and capable partners and committed to deepening our defense collaboration.
The United States and France, America’s oldest ally, share a close and enduring defense relationship grounded in common values and a shared commitment to global peace and security.
