Centcom to Host Maritime Security Force Generation Conference

U.S. Central Command will host a maritime security force generation conference for the Persian Gulf, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said. The effort is to ensure freedom of navigation for vessels plying the critical waterway, Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford, who is in Afghanistan, told reporters traveling with him.

Shanahan Approves Force Protection Deployment for Middle East

Centcom Commander: Success in Defeating ISIS Lies With Coalition Partners, Allies

WASHINGTON — Continued commitment from coalition partners in the effort to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and the promotion of regional security and stability set the conditions for a lasting victory, the commander of U.S. Central Command said.

South Asia Strategy Working in Afghanistan, Centcom Commander Says

WASHINGTON — While the fighting continues and work remains to be done in Afghanistan, progress there shows the president’s South Asia Strategy is working, the commander of U.S. Central Command told reporters at the Pentagon.

U.S. Army Capt. Ryan Stanfield, a flight nurse, and Sgt. Jared Belisle, a crew chief, both assigned to Company C, 1st General Support Aviation Battalion, 111th Aviation Regiment, Task Force Dragon, pull German soldiers into an HH-60M Black Hawk helicopter during a coalition medevac and hoist training exercise at Erbil, Iraq, Aug. 20, 2016. This training was conducted to teach and familiarize German, Dutch, and Finnish soldiers with U.S. Army medevac equipment and procedures. More than 60 Coalition partners have committed themselves to the goal of eliminating the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and have contributed in various capacities to the effort to combat ISIL.
