DNA Testing To Begin Immediately on Remains From North Korea, Officials Say

WASHINGTON — DNA testing will begin immediately on the 55 boxes of service members’ remains returned to the United States from North Korea, where they were contained since the fall of 1950, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency officials told reporters.

WASHINGTON — The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency has started identification of 55 boxes of Korean War remains to determine if the fallen are American service members or from another nation that participated in the conflict.

U.S. Receives Fallen Service Members’ Remains From North Korea

WASHINGTON — The United Nations Command, with support from U.S. Forces Korea, repatriated 55 cases of remains of fallen U.S. service members returned by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, also known as North Korea.
