SEAC David Isom is the 6th Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the most-senior enlisted service member by position in the U.S. Armed Forces, serving as the principal enlisted advisor to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Prior to becoming SEAC on June 20, 2025, he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command; Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Special Operations Command Pacific; Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Special Operations Command North; Command Master Chief, Naval Special Warfare Group TEN; and Command Master Chief, Special Reconnaissance Team TWO. His other assignments include Naval Special Warfare Development Group, Joint Special Operations Command, Tactical Development and Evaluation Squadron ONE, and SEAL Team ONE.

SEAC Isom enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1987 and attended basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of training, he reported to the USS Mauna Kea (AE-22). He was later assigned to USS Mount Hood (AE-29) prior to being selected to attend Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training (BUD/S).

SEAC Isom's assignments have included a full range of duties in Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) Teams at Theater Special Operations Commands, and across the joint environment. His combat and operational deployments include Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as deployments throughout the Pacific and the Horn of Africa.

His education and training include the Command Master Chief Course, the Joint Special Operations University Senior Enlisted Academy, the U.S. Special Operations Command Summit Course, National Defense University's Keystone Course, Naval Postgraduate Schools Navy Senior Leader Seminar, and The New Flag and Senior Executive Training Symposium. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Studies from Norwich University.
