WASHINGTON-- Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met Sept. 29 with Chief of the Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Guler in Warsaw, Poland.
Gen. Dunford congratulated Gen. Guler on his appointment as Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces and expressed his desire to build on the positive relationship forged with the previous commander, Gen. Hulusi Akar. The two leaders discussed security and stability in Manbij, as well as ways to strengthen the U.S.-Turkey military-to-military relationship.
