WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met with Swedish Supreme Commander Gen. Micael Byden Oct. 16 in Washington D.C.
The two military leaders discussed shared security concerns faced in Europe and ways to increase cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as joint training and exercises.
The U.S. and Sweden share a strong defense relationship and Sweden is a critical partner.
