WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Christopher W. Grady met with the Australian Vice Chief of Defence Force Air Marshal Robert Chipman at the Pentagon yesterday.
During their meeting, Adm. Grady and AM Chipman discussed areas of mutual interest to include the integrated modernization of our two militaries, U.S. force posturing initiatives in Australia, advancing the defense industrial base, and current global and regional threats.
Australia is one of the United States’ premier security partners. The alliance of more than 70 years is rooted in shared regional interests to promote a stable, secure, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
