WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Christopher W. Grady spoke with Lithuanian Chief of Defense Gen. Raimundas Vaikšnoras in the Pentagon on Monday, May 5th, 2025.
Adm. Grady expressed sincere thanks for the support from Gen. Vaikšnoras, the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the people of Lithuania in recovering four missing U.S. Soldiers in March 2025. Lithuania’s swift response is indicative of the close relationships between the U.S. and Lithuanian militaries.
During the meeting, Adm. Grady and Gen. Vaikšnoras discussed the crucial U.S.- Baltic strategic partnership and Lithuania’s military modernization progress. Additionally, both military leaders affirmed shared commitment to defending against unprovoked threats from Russia.
Lithuania is a critical NATO ally and the U.S. is committed to Baltic Security.
