WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:

Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Christopher Grady met with President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and Finnish Chief of Defence General Janne Jaakkola in Helsinki, Finland, to discuss Finland’s integration into NATO, the strong U.S.-Finland bilateral relationship, and other key security issues.

The leaders reaffirmed their dedication to deepening U.S.-Finnish defense cooperation, supporting joint operations in the Baltic Sea, and strengthening NATO’s collective security efforts.

Recognizing the importance of interoperability, they highlighted Finland’s participation in DEFENDER 25 and BALTOPS 25, reinforcing military readiness and Alliance integration. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination with Allies and partners to uphold stability and security across the Euro-Atlantic region underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration in addressing shared strategic challenges.

Adm. Grady commended Finland’s proactive approach to NATO integration and expressed appreciation for the country’s substantial contributions and steadfast commitment to regional security.
