WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Air Force Col. Robert Firman provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, met with Japan’s Joint Staff Chief of Staff, General Yoshihide Yoshida, on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025.
During the meeting, Gen. Caine and Gen. Yoshida discussed the continued strategic partnership between the U.S. and Japan, security cooperation, and the direction of defense innovation.
The longstanding U.S.-Japan relationship is central to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and the preservation of a rules-based international order.
The U.S.-Japan Alliance remains the cornerstone of our regional security strategy to maintain a free and open Indo-Pacific.
