TAMPA, FL — Joint Staff Spokesperson Mr. Joseph Holstead provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Friday, August 8th, 2025.
During the meeting, Gen. Caine and FM Asim discussed their successful U.S.-Pakistan counterterrorism cooperation efforts in the region and the strong relationship between the two militaries. The two leaders also discussed Pakistan’s continued leadership in Central Asia. Pakistan co-hosted the U.S. Central Command’s Central Asia-South Asia Chiefs of Defense Conference in July.
The U.S.-Pakistan military partnership is necessary for advancing shared security goals, promoting regional stability, and supporting peace and nuclear security in South Asia.
