WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Mr. Joseph Holstead provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine met with French Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fabien Mandon via video teleconference yesterday for their first bilateral engagement since Gen. Mandon assumed his role on September 1.
The two leaders reaffirmed the strength of the U.S.–France defense alliance, emphasizing the importance of close cooperation in addressing shared security challenges. Their discussion focused on sustaining momentum in coalition efforts, enhancing defense interoperability, and advancing joint operations that contribute to global stability and prosperity.
The U.S.–France alliance remains essential to collective defense, the promotion of democratic values, and the ability to meet global challenges through mutual trust and partnership.
