Joint Staff EEOD Mission
Our mission is to foster a work environment that attracts, retains, and develops a competitive, highly qualified workforce without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, and reprisal. The Joint Staff EEOD office provides management and staff with advice that reinforces the six essential elements of a model agency EEO program which includes:
- Demonstrated commitment from agency leadership;
- Integration of EEO into the agency’s strategic mission;
- Management and program accountability;
- Proactive prevention of unlawful discrimination;
- Efficiency; responsiveness;
- Legal compliance
To develop, execute and maintain a model Civilian Equal Employment Opportunity program per the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Management Directive 715.
The Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Office is the sole authorized source for information related to Civilian Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity on the Joint Staff. The Joint Staff EEOD office has two locations.

Each EEOD office provides Affirmative Employment and Diversity advice and the ability to conduct workforce data analysis to inform the agency. The Joint Staff EEOD also works with the agency's Human Resources Directorate and senior leaders to identify and address barriers to equal employment.
