Sean A. Lehr, biography photo

As the Acting Director for Manpower & Personnel, Joint Staff, Mr. Lehr helps provide best military advice to the the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on strategic Human Resource matters.

Mr. Lehr is a seasoned human resources professional with extensive experience across the full spectrum of military and civilian personnel programs, manpower requirements and resourcing, readiness, and force development. He also has in-depth experience with National and Department-level human capital management strategy and policy development.

Mr. Lehr began his Air Force career at Woodlawn Golf Course, Ramstein AB Germany, and over the years has progressed through a variety of positions within the manpower, personnel, and services arena. He's held positions at base, major command, headquarters, and field operating agency levels directly supporting the military mission and community, both in CONUS as well as remote locations overseas. Mr. Lehr has held leadership positions including Deputy Director for Installation Support at Minot AFB, ND, Executive Director for Manpower, Personnel & Services at Air Force Global Strike Command and most recently as Human Resource Strategic Planner and Force Support Civilian Career Field Manager, Headquarters U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Lehr earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University. He completed Air Command and Staff College by correspondence, and later attended Air War College in residence, culminating in a Master of Strategic Studies from Air University.
