WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met today with Norwegian Chief of Defense Adm. Haakon Bruun-Hanssen in Washington D.C.
The two military leaders discussed a range of issues, including the shared challenges faced in Europe and ways to increase coordination in areas of mutual interest. Further, Gen. Dunford thanked Adm. Bruun-Hanssen for Norway's contributions to Operation Inherent Resolve and the NATO Resolute Support mission.
During his visit, Adm. Bruun-Hanssen was presented with a Legion of Merit for his service and leadership within the NATO alliance.
Norway is a key NATO ally and shares a strong partnership with the U.S. around the globe.
