WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with acting Chief of Defence of Denmark Gen. Michael Hyldgaard today at the Pentagon. This was their first meeting since Gen. Hyldgaard became acting Chief of Defence.
The two military leaders discussed the current security environment in Europe, including ongoing aid of Ukraine amid Russia’s unprovoked invasion of the nation.
Gen. Brown and Gen. Hyldgaard also discussed force modernization goals and the importance of close alignment.
The U.S. and Denmark are founding members of NATO and the allyship between the two nations is critical to the security and stability in Europe and across the globe.
