WASHINGTON, D.C., — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with United Kingdom’s Chief of the Defence Staff Adm. Sir Tony Radakin today by video teleconference.
The two military leaders discussed the current security environment throughout the Middle East, including allied defense posture and opportunities to bolster deterrence. They discussed ongoing operations In Israel and the importance of the conflict in Gaza not expanding.
In addition, the leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, the security environment in Eastern Europe and other items of mutual strategic interest.
The United States and the United Kingdom share a long history of mutual support and cooperation, which are cornerstones of the strong alliance and special relationship.
