WASHINGTON, D.C. — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., spoke with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi today by video teleconference.
During the conversation, the leaders continued discussions on current security conditions in the Middle East, including an update on the situation in Gaza. The United States recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself while also emphasizing the need to protect innocent civilians and ensure unfettered access for the delivery of humanitarian aid.
The United States and Israel are strong partners committed to regional security and peace in the Middle East.
