The Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Christopher J. Mahoney met yesterday at the Pentagon with Lieutenant General Fructueux Gbaguidi, Chief of the Defence Staff of Benin, to reaffirm the strong and enduring security partnership between the United States and Benin. During their discussion, General Mahoney expressed his deep appreciation for the long-standing bilateral relationship, highlighting the critical joint initiatives and security assistance executed through U.S. Africa Command.
Both leaders emphasized their commitment to addressing regional security threats, noting that a secure, stable, and democratic Benin remains a cornerstone for regional peace. The engagement concluded with a mutual pledge to reinforce military-to-military cooperation and to work alongside regional allies to disrupt transnational threats and promote long-term stability.
