WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met today with the Indian Chief of the Naval Staff and Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee Adm. Sunil Lanba, as well as several other senior Indian government officials, to include the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, in New Delhi, India.
The two senior military leaders discussed a range of issues, including the current security environment, continued cooperation in training exercises and creating more opportunities to increase interoperability between the U.S. and Indian militaries.
The U.S. and India share a strong military-to-military relationship under the U.S.-India Major Defense Partnership.
