WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met with his counterpart Indonesian Chief of Defense Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto in Honolulu, Hawaii. The two senior military leaders discussed a range of issues, including ways to enhance the military-to-military relationship through training opportunities and improved information sharing between the two militaries.
The U.S.-Indonesia relationship provides an important stabilizing presence in the Indo-Pacific region. The U.S. remains committed to supporting Indonesia’s role in advancing regional security and prosperity in Southeast Asia, ASEAN, and the Indo-Pacific.
