WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. spoke with German Inspector General of the Armed Forces Gen. Eberhard Zorn today.
The two military leaders discussed the current security environment in the Middle East.
The U.S.-Germany alliance is based on shared democratic values and the two nations enjoy exceptional military cooperation. As a key NATO ally, Germany plays host to nearly 45,000 U.S. military forces and their families.
