WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:               

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. spoke with United Kingdom's Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Sir Nicholas Carter today.

The two leaders discussed the current security environment in the Middle East.

The United Kingdom and United States share a long history of mutual support and cooperation, which are cornerstones of the strong alliance and special relationship between the two nations.
