WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley met today with the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul.
The senior leaders discussed the current security environment in Afghanistan and the importance of continued execution of military operations in the region in support of reconciliation efforts.
The United States remains fully committed to the NATO-led Resolute Support mission alongside our allies and partners.
