WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with French Chief of Defence Staff Gen. François Lecointre today in Brussels, Belgium.
The senior leaders discussed the current security environment in Europe, throughout the Middle East, and ongoing global counterterrorism efforts.
The long-standing alliance between the U.S. and French militaries plays a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in Europe and other regions around the world.
Gen. Milley was in Brussels to participate in the NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session, held Jan. 14-15 at NATO Headquarters.
