WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with Iraqi Joint Headquarters Chief of Staff, Staff Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir Rasheed Yarallah today by phone.
The Chairman congratulated Lt. Gen. Abdul Amir on his new appointment and the senior leaders discussed the current security environment throughout the Middle East.
The partnership between the United States and Iraq is a crucial element to peace and security in the Middle East region.
