WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Qatari Armed Forces Chief of Staff H E Lieutenant General Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem today at the Pentagon.
The two leaders discussed the U.S.-Qatar bilateral relationship and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and desire to advance the interoperability and regional security cooperation activities between the two countries. Gen. Milley also expressed his appreciation for Qatar’s continued support for and hosting of U.S. forces.
The partnership between the United States and Qatar is a crucial element to peace and security in the Middle East region.
