WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Cmdr. Sarah Flaherty provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark A. Milley met this week with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani in Kabul during a visit to the CENTCOM area of responsibility.

The senior leaders discussed the current security environment in Afghanistan.

The United States remains fully committed to helping Afghans create a secure and stable Afghanistan by supporting inclusive efforts to achieve peace.
