BERLIN — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
The Framework Chiefs of Defense meeting was held in Berlin 20 September. This is the first in-person Framework CHOD meeting since January 2020, which was held in Paris.
This meeting is intended to build a collective understanding of the evolving strategic environment that informs military advice in the 13 Framework capitals. The senior military leaders exchanged perspectives on shared strategic challenges, to include strategic implications of Afghanistan and Iraq, a terrorism update in Africa, and the changing dynamics of the South China Sea.
The Framework is comprised of nations who remain our closest allies and partners.
