WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with German Inspector General of the Armed Forces Gen. Eberhard Zorn today by phone.The military leaders discussed items of mutual interest and shared assessments of the regional security environment.

As a key NATO ally, Germany hosts more than 30,000 U.S. military forces and their families.
