WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with Bulgaria’s Chief of Defence Adm. Emil Eftimov today by phone.

The two leaders discussed items of mutual security concern, including NATO’s current operations and ongoing coordination during the adjustment of U.S. force posture in Europe. 

Bulgaria is an important NATO ally and plays a critical role in maintaining peace and security in Europe.
