WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Gen. Valery Zaluzhny yesterday by telephone.
The military leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. The Chairman commended Gen. Zaluzhny and the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ staunch resistance to Russian aggression and emphasized that the United States is united with our Allies and partners in our resolve to support Ukraine.
Ukraine is a key partner to NATO and is strongly committed to national sovereignty and democratic principles.
