WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met today with Finland’s Chief of Defense Gen. Timo Kivinen and Sweden’s Supreme Commander Gen. Micael Bydén.
The group met during the Military Committee in Chiefs of Defense Session at NATO Headquarters. They discussed the NATO accessions process and regional security concerns in light of Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
Finland and Sweden are valued defense partners of the U.S. and NATO, and strong contributors to Euro-Atlantic security.
