WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with the Polish First Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Tadeusz Mikutel yesterday by phone.

The two leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Poland is a leader in NATO defense and deterrence activities in the Baltic Sea region and Eastern Europe. The U.S. and Poland continue to share a strong defense relationship and cooperate on a wide range of programs.
