WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with the Romanian Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Daniel Petrescu today by video teleconference.
The military leaders discussed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the ongoing efforts of U.S. and NATO forces to deter Russian aggression, and the bilateral defense relationship.
Romania is an important NATO ally and cooperates closely with the U.S. in the Black Sea region and elsewhere in Europe.
