WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Chief of the Republic of Lithuania Valdemaras Rupšys today at the Pentagon.
The military leaders discussed Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. They also discussed the deployed U.S. military forces in Lithuania working with NATO allies and partners to deter Russian aggression and assure NATO of our shared commitment.
Lithuania is an important NATO ally and plays a critical role in maintaining peace and security in Europe.
