ROME — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Niger Armed Forces Chief of Defense Maj. Gen. Salifou Mody during the African Chiefs of Defense Conference in Rome.
The two leaders discussed items of mutual interest critical to regional stability, including counterterrorism cooperation and the continued fight against violent extremism in the region.
U.S. military partnership with Niger remains key to maintaining regional stability and security.
