ROME — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Dave Butler provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces Lt. Gen. Mohamed Askar today during African Chiefs of Defense Conference in Rome.
The military leaders discussed shared security objectives, regional challenges across the Middle East and North Africa, and Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
The strong partnership between the U.S. and Egypt is a crucial element to peace and stability in the region.
