TEL AVIV, ISRAEL — Joint Staff Spokesperson Navy Capt. Jereal Dorsey provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. CQ Brown, Jr., met with Chief of the Israeli General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi today in Tel Aviv.
The two military leaders exchanged assessments of the current security environment throughout the Middle East. They discussed ongoing and future operations in Gaza, to include U.S. emphasis on protection of civilians and unfettered access for delivery of humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza, as well as the importance of restoring calm along the Israel-Lebanon border.
Gen. Brown reiterated the importance of deterring any state or non-state actor from seeking to expand the conflict.
The U.S. and Israel enjoy a strong military-to-military relationship as key partners committed to peace and security in the Middle East.
